Out of all the massive streams going on during not-E3, few were overflowing with anticipation like Capcom’s shindig. At least, for those of us who grew up exploring the spencer mansion or spent countless hours looking for Rathalos. Huge nerds like me, basically.
The Capcom Showcase went down on Monday and lived up to expectations. For the most part, anyway. Resident Evil Village‘s DLC looks excellent, and the Gold Edition re-release will be a solid bundle. Unfortunately, Street Fighter 6 wasn’t in the presentation much. That’s not a deal-breaker, given how many hours it has been in the spotlight recently.
Welcome to the family. 👊Resident Evil 7 biohazard, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3 come to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S today with 4K, high framerate, and raytracing support! pic.twitter.com/14AtlKj0rc
The remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, along with Resident Evil 7, are finally on current-generation consoles. That is, all three have PS5 and Xbox Series X|S ports, and they’re out now! New technical updates include 4K resolutions, higher framerates, ray tracing, and 3D audio support.
These next-gen iterations are free if you own the PS4 and Xbox one versions of these games. PC owners are also getting all the new graphical touch-ups via a patch.
We are mere weeks away from Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak‘s release on June 30, 2022, and Capcom is still pumping out trailers. It seems the jungle region, along with several monsters from previous entries, will return.
Greetings, Exofighters.I am pleased to share new information about #Exoprimal from the #CapcomShowcase, including new suits, Dino Survival mode, and a closer look at Leviathan. Please take a look.▶️ https://t.co/6I2TAW4cRa pic.twitter.com/zLIPiPMe6i
Another trailer for Exoprimal dropped. Unlike the previous teases, this one contains loads of gameplay. If you’re someone that loves people in mech suits beating the hell out of dinosaurs, you may have a new favorite game looming on the horizon. It’s like Dynasty Warriors but with velociraptors.
Any doubt I had in the Resident Evil 4 remake is pretty well gone. The tone is so hopelessly bleak and tense as can be. Thus far, it’s looking less campy than the original game, but that might be for the best since Capcom thinks of this as a reimagining. Either way, can we fast forward to when this comes out next March, please?
Well met, Arisen!Announced at the #CapcomShowcase, prepare for the “10 Years of Dragon’s Dogma” digital event!📅 June 16🕒 3:00 PM PDT / 11:00 PM BST▶️ https://t.co/phLL8sAs5D▶️ https://t.co/PChm1hMs8G pic.twitter.com/gXLw6AwONi
Everyone was hoping for a Dragon’s Dogma 2 announcement, and it didn’t happen. However, Capcom is hosting a “10 years of Dragon’s Dogma” event on June 16, 2022, at 3:00 P.M. PDT // 6:00 P.M. EDT // 10:00 P.M. EDT. If you are still aching for potential sequel details, this could be where it’s revealed. Or it’ll tease another showcase entirely, which would be frustrating beyond belief and hilarious.
