With the details of this excellent DraftKings UFC 275: Teixeira vs. Prochazka promotion covered, let’s get into the UFC 275 odds and predictions for this exciting event.
Glover Teixeira (33-7) became the second oldest champion in the UFC’s history when he defeated Jan Blachowicz for the UFC Lightweight Championship at 42 years old last October. That win was Teixeira’s sixth straight victory and his fourth over that stretch that came by submission. Jiri Prochazka (28-3-1) has earned this title fight with 12 straight wins and a streak of 10 straight wins by knockout.
It should come as no surprise that the best fight on the UFC 275 card is sitting in this main event spot. There’s very little chance that this one goes all five rounds as Teixeira will be looking to defend his championship with a well-timed submission maneuver and Prochazka will be looking to end it early with a knockout. We have nothing but respect for the current champion, but Prochazka’s athleticism and versatile striking should give the 29-year-old the edge in this one.
Valentina Shevchenko (22-3) is the only woman outside of Amanda Nunes who you could make a legitimate argument is the greatest women’s mixed martial artist of all time. Shevchenko has won eight straight fights and will be gunning for her seventh straight successful tile defense of the UFC Women’s Flyweight Championship. Taila Santos (19-1) enters this championship bout on a four fight winning streak, and she’s got only one blemish on her record through her first 20 professional fights.
At these UFC 275 odds, there obviously isn’t much money to be made on betting on Shevchenko. But even facing a strong opponent in Santos, Shevchenko is also the easiest of the UFC 275 predictions on the board this Saturday. She’s too good and too focused to lose this fight, especially with her eyes set on going up in weight to challenge for another belt next.
Zhang Weili (21-3) and Joanna Jedrzejczyk (16-4) are both former UFC Women’s Strawweight champions. Both of these women lost their title to Rose Namajunas and then went on to lose their rematch to Namajunas in their next fight. This bout will serve as a championship eliminator to see who is next in line for another shot at the women’s strawweight title.
The last time these two women fought at UFC 248, Jedrzejczyk lost by a razor-thin split decision. This feels like a good spot to use your Bet $5, Get $150 DraftKings promo offer on an underdog, as if the last fight is any indication this should be an extremely competitive and entertaining fight that could go either way.
Andre Fialho (16-4) has won six of his last seven fights. All six of those wins came by knockout, as have 13 of his 16 career wins. Jake Matthews has won six of his last eight fights, though his most recent fight at UFC 259 was a submission loss. This one has the makings of an evenly-matched fight, but Fialho has the clear edge in finishing ability as five of Matthews’ last six wins have come by decision. Fialho has more paths to victory and should get the job done here as a small favorite.
Jack Della Maddalena (11-2-0) improved to 11-0 over his last 11 fights when he knocked out Pete Rodriguez in his UFC debut in January. Maddalena has nine knockout victories and one submission win since starting off his professional career with an 0-2 record back in 2016. Ramazan Emeev (20-5) opened his career with an 18-3 record but is just 2-2 over his last four fights. The exciting young Maddalena is the pick here to kick off the main card with a bang.
