Stop us if you’ve heard this one before, but it’s being rumoured that Banjo-Kazooie’s revival might finally be announced at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase this Sunday, at least according to YouTuber Modern Vintage Gamer.
MVG was a guest on the Nate the Hate podcast today (thanks, VGC), where he predicted that a Banjo revival will be announced at the event due to things he’s been hearing in the developer community:
“I have spoken to a lot of people, and I’m not an insider, I’m a developer, but sometimes I hear things and I was at GDC earlier this year and there were some people talking about Banjo.
MVG went on to state that he “feels pretty strongly” that something Banjo related will be announced at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase 2022, simply because he keeps hearing about it.
It’s worth pointing out that this podcast was based on predictions, but nevertheless MVG sounded pretty hopeful that we’ll get some kind of Banjo-Kazooie related announcement at the event. Let’s hope his prediction comes to fruition!
Rare Replay for PC perhaps with the 360 games included in the collection rather than the Xbox approach of loading up the 360 games? Rare Replay and Halo 5 are the only non-Kinect XB1 games that aren’t on PC and are still purchasable on XB1.
Sony and Nintendo both have a bucket load of franchises and characters with deep associations to their brand and eco-system and Xbox have Halo and the Masterchief.
@Bmartin001 I’d definitely take the sort of treatment that Crash/Spyro got. Complete visual overhaul whilst keeping the gameplay unchanged. I left this thread to play… Only to see that Xbox Live is down, again :/
I don’t think we’ll see anything Banjo related tomorrow. Rare is already working on so much stuff, so theoretically double fine would be the other candidate but I doubt they want to make banjo. Even though Xbox needs more brand icons and need more platform or family friendly content in general I doubt it will come soon.
