Lizzo has been climbing up the charts ever since the singer released About Damn Time. She even managed to catch everyone’s attention on TikTok by introducing a dancing trend for the game.
Following its success, Lizzo released Grrrls. While the singer has been using the music on her platform heavily, fans want a word from the lyrics to be changed.
Hold my bag, b**h (girls)Hold my bagDo you see this s**t? I’ma sp**zI’m about to knock somebody out (girls)Yo, where my best friend? She the only one I know to talk me off the deep end (ah)
Fans were upset because sp*z is derived from the term spastic which refers to someone who has been affected by muscle spasm. The word was also used as a slur for people with disabilities. Due to this, fans have been calling out the singer and asking her to change the word that has been used in the lyrics.
While appearing on The Late Show with James Corden, Lizzo confirmed the album would be dropping in April. During the interview, Lizzo admitted that her family and friends had heard the album before she decided to put it out for the world to hear.
The singer decided to jump on the chance of making people groove to her music and managed to do a brilliant job doing that. In fact, several celebrities also hopped on the trend to make sure they were keeping up with the latest buzz.
